The uncontrolled urban growth increases the occupation of areas that are environmentally inadequate and intensifies the processes of occurrence of landslides and floodings of great impact. The understanding of the physical environment in the perspective of the integrated management of environmental and urban hazards presupposes the planning and management of preventive measures. The use of tools that provide the proper support to associate databases to spatialized thematic graphic data allows the quantification of phenomena by spatial data collection, systematization, processing and storage in multi-scale and assists on sharing the information about the hazard and related measures to the society. Therefore, this article''s main point is based on the development of cartographic processes applied to the representation of the geomorphologic structures on the association of the aspects related to the dynamics of the processes that occur in the space in relation to time. As the main object of this research, it was analyzed the mapping of the city of Santo André´s landforms for the identification of its concave strands. The GRASS software was utilized for modeling through the interpolation of quoted points and contour lines on the study area. Then it was done a 3D analysis and the validation through field tests. The results were associated with other aspects of the physical environment to determinate geomorphological units of urbanization fitness.
